1. What types of documents do you translate?
I specialize in translating legal and official documents from Spanish to English and vice versa. Common requests include contracts, court filings, immigration documents, affidavits, declarations, and certified personal records such as birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates.
2. Can I send a photo of my document instead of a scan?
Yes, but the document must be clear, well-lit, and legible. Blurry or shadowed images, angled photos, or documents with missing edges may delay your quote and the translation process. Whenever possible, please send a high-resolution scan in PDF or JPEG format. If you're using a phone, apps like Adobe Scan, Microsoft Lens, or Genius Scan can help you capture clear, properly aligned images suitable for translation. If the image quality makes the document difficult to read, I may request a rescan before beginning your project.
3. Are your translations certified?
Yes. I provide a signed affidavit with each translation, verifying that the document is a complete and accurate translation of the original. My certified translations are accepted by courts, USCIS, and most other government agencies.
4. How much do you charge?
My standard rates are:
Standard translation (up to 30 days): $0.22 per word
Rush translation (10 business days): $0.25 per word
Emergency translation (72 hours): $0.35 per word
Spanish document review only (grammar and clarity): $0.10 per word
Rates may be adjusted based on document complexity. Formatting time beyond standard layout is billed at $35/hour and will be outlined in your quote if applicable. You’ll receive a clear, personalized quote after I review your file.
5. Do complex documents cost more?
Documents with significant formatting—such as birth certificates, marriage records, or forms with tables and seals—may require extra time to format accurately. In such cases, I may adjust the price or timeline slightly. Any changes will be communicated clearly during the quote process.
6. How fast can I get my translation?
Turnaround depends on the length and complexity of the document. Most standard jobs are delivered within 1 to 3 business days. Rush (10 business day) and emergency (72-hour) services are also available when needed.
7. Do you offer same-day or rush services?
Yes. Rush (10 business day) and emergency (72-hour) turnaround options are available depending on availability. Be sure to mention your deadline when requesting a quote, and I’ll confirm whether I can meet it.
8. Do you offer discounts for multiple documents or bulk work?
Yes. I offer custom pricing for clients with large projects or multiple documents exceeding 5,000 words. Please include that information when you request a quote.
9. Is my information kept private?
Absolutely. All documents are handled with strict confidentiality. Your files are never shared, stored beyond the project, or used for any other purpose.
10. Who performs the translation work?
All translations are completed by me, personally. I hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and am a native Spanish speaker with professional experience in legal language. You’re not working with an agency — you’re working directly with a credentialed legal translator.
11. How do I get started?
Use the contact form or “Request a Quote” button to upload your document. I’ll respond within 24 hours with a personalized quote, estimated turnaround time, and payment details.
